It’s easy to get confused about which foods are unhealthy and which are not. There aren’t foods that will save your life and likewise, there aren’t ones that will kill you. It is all about balance.

However, If you go to other parts of the world where they have not been exposed to a sedentary lifestyle and consumption of processed foods, many chronic diseases especially heart and liver disease are in very limited existence.

Therefore, you should try to avoid certain foods that are unhealthy for you if you want to lose weight and prevent chronic illnesses.

Even some of our apparently ‘healthy’ meals are filled with unhealthy fats, artificial ingredients, and unnecessary preservatives that are hazardous to health all thanks to the manufacturers and deceptive marketers.

1. Potato Chips/ French Fries

These foods are very high in calories, and it’s easy to eat excessive amounts. Some studies link French fries and potato chips to weight gain and increased mortality rate. They contain a high level of sodium from salt and are linked with high blood pressure which can lead to heart and kidney diseases.

Artificial sweeteners found in gums are additives that have been scientifically shown to trigger sweet receptors and quicken up hunger, hence the reason you always get hungry after taking gums.

Sugar consumed in large amounts can drive insulin resistance and is strongly linked to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. 4. Fast Foods

Fast foods are mass-produced foods created for commercial purposes at low prices to accommodate a large number of busy people. Examples might include burger, pizza, hotdog, shawarma, onion ringsght etc.

They are mostly made with unhealthy ingredients, highly processed products, low nutrients, and extremely high in calories. Fast foods contribute to disease risk and harm your general wellness and increase the risk of weight gain, heart diseases, diabetes, and food poisoning.

Breakfast cereals are processed cereal grains, such as wheat, oats, rice, and corn. They’re especially popular among children and often taken with milk.

It is a type of drink containing stimulating compounds usually caffeine, which is marketed as providing mental and physical stimulation. They contain sugar, sometimes sweeteners, herbal extracts amino acids e.t.c.

They are more corrosive to your teeth than regular soda. They also cause irritability, sleep problems, abnormal heart rhythms, liver problems, anxiety, digestive problems e.t.c.
