Binani Group of Companies, founded by the only female Senator in the North, Senator Aisha Dahiru Binani is set to establish a domestic airline, Binani Air.

Senator Aisha Dahiru Ahmed Binani, representing Adamawa Central and the founder of Binani Group of Companies is the only female Senator in the North. This was a feat she achieved after the only other female Senator in the North— Binta Masi Garba representing Adamawa North Constituency— was defeated at the polls.

The new airline has already applied to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for a license to operate in Adamawa state and the whole North-eastern Zone. The Zone currently has no registered airline of its own. The airline will operate from Bauchi to Gombe States to fill in the gap for the much-needed air service, in the region.

Senator Binani has relinquished her interests in the company as required by Law. The company is now headed with Mrs. Aminatu Chiroma as the Managing Director.

This comes only a few days after another prominent Bussinessman from Kano, A.A Rano launched Rano Airline.

The timing of the launch is set to coincide with the return of air travels within the country after the long disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Recall that the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has approved the return of domestic flights within the country amidst stringent measures to curtail the spread of the dreaded Virus.
