PricewaterhouseCoopers is one of the leading ‘big four’ accounting firms in the world alongside Deloitte, EY, and KPMG. PwC also ranks as the second-largest professional services network in the world. Ruqayya El-Rufai made history as she became the first northern female to partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers Nigeria.

According to a statement from the company’s publicists, the class of 2020 partners also includes Akinyemi Akingbade, Chioma Obaro, Kunle Amida, Olusola Adewole, Tosin Labeodan, Wura Olowofoyeku, and Yinka Yusuf.

Ruqaiya works at the company as Associate Director of Risk Advisory and Head of Sustainability. She had her Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. She also attended the London School of Economics and Political Science where she bagged a Masters’s degree in Public Policy and Management.

Ruqayya El-Rufai had also worked as a Special Advisor on Revenue to The Minister of Finance between 2018 to 2019.
